The Walter Hoving Home is a non-profit, faith-based
rehabilitation center serving women 18 years
and older who have been involved in drug
addiction, alcoholism, prostitution and other
life-controlling problems. The center was
begun in 1967 in New York and is named for
the late Walter Hoving, former chairman of
Tiffany & Co., who helped raise money
to buy the first facility in Garrison, New
York. The Walter Hoving Home expanded to
the West Coast in 1985 and opened a facility
in Pasadena, California, located in the historic
Mira Monte Hotel at 127 South El Molino Avenue.
Both homes have the capacity to provide care
for 60 women.
